Rosa Rodriguez

Rosa Rodriguez "Tata" passed away unexpectedly at home on February 28, 2022. She was 76 years old but 25 at heart. Devoted mother of Carlos "Page" Merced (Latisha), Helen "Melissa" Merced (Sa'id), Reinaldo "Rey" Santiago, Jacqueline "Jackie" Flecha (Anthony), Jonathan "Jonny" Santiago, and Enoth "Vic" Rodriguez. Loving Wela to Eric, Shaina, Elisia, Tyler, Taylor, Jessica, Joey, Freddy, Noelia, Jailine, Joshua, Naiya, Avaiya, and Great Wela to Kailen, Nate, Hannah Rose, John, Gabriel, and Sky. Dear sister of Victor "Tuto" Rodriguez (Hilda), Enoth "Macho" Rodriguez (Julia), and the late Noelia Rodriguez and Maria Ayala. Sadly missed by her nieces and nephews, her extended family, and many friends and neighbors. 

Rosa was born to the late Pedro Rodriguez and Maria Vasquez in Aguas Buenas, Puerto Rico. She moved to Philadelphia and raised her family in the Kensington section of the city. She lived on the same block for many years and everyone loved to gather at her home. She was like a mother to all, especially in her own family as she was the Matriarch. Rosa had tremendous strength and took care of everyone without any complaints.  Her family meant everything to her.

Rosa loved all things beautiful and she saw beauty in everything. She loved to decorate her home and took great pride in her appearance. She wore beautiful clothes and loved things such as flowers (especially roses), butterflies, and elephants. Rosa also always saw the beauty in people because she saw the best in everyone no matter what they looked like. She did not judge anyone. Rosa will be missed tremendously by all those who knew and loved her. 

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing and funeral Friday March 4, 2022 beginning at 6pm in the Hubert M. McBride Funeral Home 2357 East Cumberland Street Philadelphia PA 19125. Funeral service 7:30pm.
