Rosalie "Rose" E. Rush

Rosalie E. Rush "Rose" passed away on May 14, 2023, days after her 81st birthday. She was born on May 12, 1942 to the late William J. and Alberta M. (nee Brusstar) Rush.

Rose lived for the first few years of her life in West Philadelphia. Her family relocated to the Kensington section of the city, where Rose remained throughout her life. She graduated from Kensington High School then worked as a Candling Clerk for the Internal Revenue Service for over 20 years. 

Rose was a longtime member of All Saints Episcopal Church and participated in many of the church activities. She especially enjoyed the "Young at Heart" senior group. Rose loved to bake and tend to her garden. She was quite the green thumb. She also loved watching her old movies and shows.  More than anything, Rose cherished her time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews, who were her world. She would do anything for them.

Rose is survived by her brother John (Mary Francis), her sister Cheryl Ott (Francis), and her many beloved nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Dolores Rush, and her brothers William Rush Jr. (Joan) and Robert Rush Sr. (late Marie). 

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing and funeral Friday May 19, 2023 beginning at 9:30am in the Hubert M. McBride Funeral Home 2357 East Cumberland Street Philadelphia, PA 19125. Funeral service 11am. Interment Oakland Cemetery.
