Ruth was born in Philadelphia to the late Union O. and Ida Matthews Collins. Ruth's father was a member of the Pamunkey Tribe Native American. Born and raised in Kensington, Ruth attended Potter-Thomas, Elkins and Mastbaum Schools. She spent about 30 years at H.A. Brown School as a reading Aide and 22 years as office staff at Pep Boys Corp.
Among her favorite past times were crocheting and crafts. She enjoyed her tapioca pudding, Pepsi, peach tea and untold cups of coffee during the day. Even with all that caffeine she fell asleep very easily. She was a long-time member of St. Michael's and Zion Lutheran Churches.
Ruth was the beloved wife of the late William E. Jankowski, Sr. Devoted mother of Harriett R. Todd (Robert), Kenneth S. Jankowski (George), Albert O. Jankowski (Danielle) and the late William Jankowski Jr. Ruth was predeceased by 3 siblings. She is sadly missed by 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Saturday, January 31, 2026, beginning at 9:30 AM and to her Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM, Zion Lutheran Church, 301 Jefferson Ave, Bristol, Pa . 19007. Innterment will follow at Rosedale Memorial Park.
