Scott B. Gallen passed away peacefully on September 26, 2022 after courageously battling ALS for over three years. He is the beloved son of Faith and Ed Seltzer and Alan Gallen. Cherished husband of Kimberly. Devoted father of Tyler, Delaney, Austin, and Aidan. Dear brother of Joy Rutter (Ray) and Adam Gallen. Loving nephew of Karen and Bruce Bulim and cousin of Carolyn Chassey(Christopher). Sadly missed by his extended family and his friends.
Scott was raised in the Holmesburg section of Philadelphia. After high school, he entered the United States Navy, where he proudly served his country during Desert Storm. Scott was always a hard worker. He enjoyed a successful career in real estate and then as a tile installer. He worked even after his diagnosis and he never complained.
Scott enjoyed his time living at the Delaware Valley Veterans Home. His family will always be grateful to the staff and friends that Scott made while he was there. They always ensured that he was having a good time and kept him full of laughter and hope. Scott also belonged to Paralyzed Veterans of America Colonial Chapter. He always looked forward to the time he spent with his fellow veterans at the PVA functions and outings.
Scott will always be remembered for being a positive and cheerful person regardless of his situation. He was funny and witty, and would keep you on your toes. Scott taught those he came in contact with that you have to love life, no matter what you are going through, and to keep pushing forward. He will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Relatives and friends are invited to his burial and committal services with military honors Tuesday October 11, 2022 promptly at 10:30am in Washington Crossing National Cemetery 830 Highland Ave. Newtown PA 18940. "I hope that other people with ALS will see - don't just give up. Don't just sit in your room and do nothing. you can still live. Just go out there and live" ~ Scott B. Gallen
