Sharon Bonewicz

Sharon Bonewicz, 49, of Philadelphia passed away at home on Thursday, June 19th, 2025. Born on June 20th, 1975, in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Theodore J. Bonewicz Jr.  She is survived by her mother Cecilia Bonewicz, her daughter, Eleanor "Ellie" Bonewicz and brother TJ Bonewicz

Sharon, a lifelong resident of Fishtown.  She was a 1993 graduate of Hallahan Catholic High School and went on to earn a bachelor's degree from Temple University. 

She was a life long martial artist becoming one of the first American female BJJ Blackbelts in the US.  She was a dedicated caregiver to her mother and was always there for her family and friends.  Her willing to do for others, caring, devotion will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on June 25, 2025, beginning at 9 AM in the McElvarr Funeral Home 1415-17 East Susquehanna Ave. Philadelphia, PA 19125. Prayers and Words of Remembrance will be at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers and in honoring Sharon's love of her daughter, the family respectfully requests any contributions be made in the name of Ellie Bonewicz c/o of the Family.
