Stephen "Jack" J. Polo Jr.

Stephen J. Polo Jr. "Jack" passed away at home on August 12, 2024, at the age of 85. He was born on December 8, 1938 to the late Stephen J. Sr. and Grace (nee Boyd)

Jack was born and raised in Philadelphia. He attended Saint Michael grade school and then Roman Catholic High School. When he left high school he enlisted in the Army. After being Honorably Discharged, he married and started a family.  Eventually he started his lifelong career as a long-distance truck driver. In his spare time, Jack enjoyed listening to Country music, playing his guitar, and enjoying his Jack Daniels. Whether he was in Front & Berks in Philly, the Little Club in Wildwood, or the East Side Inn in the Poconos, he was always surrounded by friends. In his later years, he welcomed the addition of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and because he was able to retire early, he had lots of time to enjoy them. Although his presence here on earth will be missed, along with his special brand of humor…we know that he’d be happy to know that his wit and sarcasm will live on forever as it was inherited by his children and their children! 

Jack was the beloved husband of almost 63 years to the love of his life Rosemary (nee Livingston). Devoted father of Teri Rodriguez (late Charles), Donna Petulla (Michael), and the late Janice Ann and Sandra. Loving grandfather of Steven, Krystle (Alex), Janice (Dan), Samantha (Justin), Michael, Sandra and great grandfather of Dylan, Kassie, Bobby, and Ella Rose. Dear brother of the late Anne Crowley (Joseph). Sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing and funeral Wednesday August 21, 2024 beginning at 10am in the McElvarr Funeral Home 1415-17 East Susquehanna Ave. Philadelphia, PA 19125 (Fishtown) followed by his funeral service at 11:15am. Burial and Committal Services with Military Honors 1pm in Washington Crossing National Cemetery Newtown, PA.
