Theodore "Ted" Arnold

Theodore “Ted" Arnold suddenly passed away on May 9th,2021 at Pennsylvania Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was a beloved husband to the late Jane E. Conlin and devoted father to Helen(Brent), Bobbijo(Lloyd), Crystal(Jerry), Roy(Ellie), Barbara(Pete), Ashley(Cameron). Loving grandfather to (9) grandchildren and (7) great-grandchildren. Sadly missed by all of his nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Ted honorably served his country in the United States Army.

He was a man of many traits including Saint Mary Hospitals, Talco Metals, Penn Home, but his longest running trade was being known as Mr. Softee Ice Cream throughout Fishtown, Kensington and Bridesburg for (30) years. He was known as mayor of the neighborhood, he knew everyone and everyone loved him for his  sunny disposition and positive attitude. His “Hey how ya doin” will be deeply missed and his impact is felt throughout the community.

The family requests that we honor and celebrate him by wearing Phillies attire, or colors representing the team because Ted was a devoted fan regardless if the team won or lost. One of his life achievements was the pride of his Family.

Family, relatives and friends are  invited to his celebration of life memorial on May 22 2021 at McBride Funeral Home at beginning at 1:15pm in the Hubert M. McBride Funeral Home 2357 E Cumberland Street Philadelphia, PA 19125. 

We ask that all those attending services wear a mask and maintain social distancing.
