Theodore "Ted" J. Swierz

Theodore J. Swierz "Ted" passed away on April 9, 2025 at the age of 84. He was born in Philadelphia to the late John and Catherine (nee Cwenar) Swierz. 

Ted was a lifelong resident of Fishtown, in St. Laurentius parish. He attended West Catholic High School and, after graduating, entered the United States Marine Corps. Later, he gained employment in the housekeeping department for St. Mary's hospital and then Episcopal hospital, where he worked for many years until his retirement. Ted always provided for his family and he made sure they had everything they needed. In his downtime, he enjoyed the simple things in life like watching football and drinking an Ortlieb's at one of his favorite neighborhood bars. He will be greatly missed by all those in his life but they take comfort that he is being reunited with his loved ones who have gone before him, especially his wife, son, and grandson. 

Ted is the beloved husband of the late Anna (nee Caesar). Devoted father of Margaret Katzin (Mark), Frederick Moll, David Moll, Catherine Swierz (late Christopher Poulterer), Michele Floyd (David), and the late Theodore "Teddy" Swierz. Dear brother of John Swierz. Loving Pop of David Jr., Pete, Samantha, Brianna, Kaitlyn, the late Matthew, and great Pop of Kade, Blake, Matthew, Aubrey, and David. 

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing and funeral Tuesday April 15, 2025 beginning at 9:45am in Holy Name of Jesus Church 701 Gaul Street Philadelphia, PA 19125. Funeral mass 11am. Interment Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
