Theresa D. Ringenary (nee Barton) of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2026, at the age of 94. She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on August 19, 1931 to the late Charles and Catherine (nee Fitzpatrick) Barton.
Theresa was always devoted to her family. As a young girl, she left school to help care for her younger siblings, a responsibility she carried with quiet strength and love. Later in life, that same devotion was poured into her own family, who meant everything to her.
Her home was the heart of the family — especially on Sundays. Everyone knew that Sunday dinner at Theresa’s meant good food, hot coffee, laughter, and pie served fresh and warm from the oven. Around her table, memories were made and bonds were strengthened.
She found joy in life’s simple pleasures: long drives with no particular destination and treasured time spent with her grandchildren. She had a special way of making each grandchild feel like the favorite — and if you asked them, every single one would tell you they were.
Theresa taught her family many lessons, most of all about love, generosity, and togetherness. And in true Theresa fashion, she always joked that the best way to control your diabetes was with ice cream and Tastykakes.
Her love, warmth, and sense of humor will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
Theresa is the beloved wife of the late Charles E. Ringenary. Devoted mother of Enid Gallagher (late Robert), Tressa Koptyko (Myron), Kevin Ringenary (Terry), Peter Ringenary (Tammy), Anton Ringenary (Wendy), Mark Ringenary (Cyndi), and the late Gerard Ringenary. Loving Grandmom of Amanda, Andrij, Julia, Brian, Ellen, Joseph, James, Amber, Katie, Carly, Haley, Colin, Ashlyn, and the late Michael. Sadly missed by her 13 great grandchildren. Dear sister of the late Ann, Charles Jr., Joan, Bernard, Jerry, Catherine, and Tom.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing and funeral Thursday March 5, 2026 from 8:45-9:45am in St. Anne's Church (upper) 2328 East Lehigh Ave. Philadelphia, PA 19125, followed by her funeral mass at 10am. Interment to follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Pennsylvania. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to St. Anne PREP Program.
