Thomas F. Griffin

Thomas F. Griffin passed away on February 4, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He is the beloved husband of Maureen (nee Kearney) and the late Ida Mae (nee Derr). Devoted father of Debbie Gillespie (late James), Raymond Griffin (Dawn), Connie Cataline (James), Sharon Kelly (Frank), and Thomas Griffin (Joanne), and the late David Griffin. Loving grandfather of Jimmy, Courtney, Raymond, Megan, Brynlee, John, Corinne, Francis, Ryan, Danielle, David, Tara, the late Thomas and Steven, and his 26 great grandchildren. Dear brother of Jack Griffin (late Dot), Dan Griffin (Judy), and the late Dolores Fry, Joe Griffin, Don Griffin, Raymond Griffin, and Joan Luce. Sadly missed by his nieces and nephews. 

Thomas’ work ethic was second to none, whether fixing up and selling houses or working side-by-side with family and friends at his Kensington landmark, Griffin’s Deli which he owned and operated for 26 years. Tom and Maureen loved taking regular trips back to Ireland to visit relatives as well as dancing to Frank Sinatra and being spoiled by his large and loving family. He took pride in his angel fish and all 23 of his great grand babies.  His accomplishments are many and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. 

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing and funeral Monday February 8, 2021 beginning at 10:30am in the Hubert M. McBride Funeral Home 2357 East Cumberland Street Philadelphia PA 19125. Funeral service 12pm. Interment Oakland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to the Michael J.
