Thomas M McGrath Sr. was born in Philadelphia to the late James and Helen Plumley McGrath. He passed away on December 22,2022 at the age of 78 with his family by his side. He is the beloved husband of Patricia A McGrath (nee Sadonick ) Devoted father of Maureen P. Mosley (husband Pete Mosley) and the late Thomas M. McGrath, Jr. Loving Poppie of Peter Mosley, Bailey Mosley and Grady Mosley Dear sister of Helene Carberry (husband Louis Carberry) and the late James and Jack McGrath.
He was raised in Greys Ferry. He graduated from St Gabriel's Parish School and St. John Neumann High School and went to be a printer at Pearl Pressman Liberty (PPL) where he was known as “Moon.” Tom most enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and watching the Eagles and Phillies. He also enjoyed playing the lottery and playing cards with people close to him.
Tom was a proud veteran of the United States Army.
Toms' stories and love will be carried with us through all of our lives. It took one conversation with Tom to know he was a great person and a great soul. He will be missed by so many, His memories will always be with us.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing and funeral on Thursday December 29, 2002, beginning at 9 AM followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM, in St. Peter, the Apostle Church, 5th Street and Girard Avenue, Phila. Military Honors will be rendered after the Mass.
