Thomas "Tom" J. Dawson

Thomas J. Dawson "Tom" passed away in his home on November 13, 2021. He is the devoted father of Thomas "Tommy" (Andrea) and William "Billy" (Lauren Trunkwalter). Dear husband of Kathryn Staab-Tonzelli. Loving Pop to Adelynn, Adriana, and Andrew. Cherished brother of Gary (Elizabeth), and the late William, James, and Joseph. Sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, and stepchildren. 

Tom was born to the late Joseph and Alice Dawson and was raised in the Fishtown neighborhood of Philadelphia, where he remained throughout his life. He worked for years and was well known in the neighborhood as an autoglass installer. In his downtime, he liked to watch westerns or sit out with his neighbors and enjoy a Budweiser. His family will remember him as being outspoken and sometimes a bit hard-headed but also as a man with a heart of gold who would give you the shirt off of his back if you needed it. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing and funeral Friday November 19, 2021 beginning at 10:30am in the McElvarr Funeral Home 1415-17 East Susquehanna Ave. Philadelphia PA 19125. Funeral service 12pm. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests and appreciates any donations towards his final expenses.
