Trudy Houseman

Trudy Houseman (Messer), age 47, passed away on December 16, 2024 with her loving family by her side. She was born in Philadelphia on June 12, 1977.

Trudy was a lifelong resident of the Fishtown section of Philadelphia, having attended St. Michael’s grade school and then John W. Hallahan High School for Girls. She graduated in 1995 and then started her career as a legal assistant. Trudy worked for many years, although taking a leave to raise her daughter, which was her greatest accomplishment. 

Trudy will always be remembered for being the life of the party and dancing the night away whenever she was able. She was fun-loving and caring and her family would say she was a bit stubborn. In her downtime, Trudy loved her TV shows, especially reality TV, true crime, and anything that featured Gordon Ramsay. 

Trudy is the beloved wife of Dennis Houseman. Devoted mother of Taylor. Cherished daughter of Karl Wagner and the late Trudy Messer and daughter in law of the late George and Sis Houseman. Dear sister of Christina (Sonny), Karl (Megan), Kerri (Rob), the late Kevin, and sister in law of Michael (Darlene), Chummy (Kim), and Craig (Lori). Loving aunt of Emily, Hayden, Tatum, Jackson, Jameson, Lexi, Brianna, Clarissa, Jennifer, Michael, Allison, Georgie, Tommy, Samantha, Bobby, and numerous great nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends are invited to gather and celebrate her life Saturday December 28, 2024 beginning at 5pm in the McElvarr Funeral Home 1415-17 East Susquehanna Ave. Philadelphia, PA 19125 (Fishtown) followed by prayers and words of remembrance at 6:30pm.
