Veronica Marie Foley-Clarke (nee Kober), 67, passed away unexpectedly in her home in Port Richmond, Philadelphia on December 23, 2024.
Veronica is predeceased by her loving father Philip J. Kober (“Buttsie”) and Mary J. Kober (nee Gilbert). She is also predeceased by her brother Richard (“Ricky”) J. Gilbert, her first husband, Robert (“Bobby”) Foley and partner Paul Clarke.
Veronica is survived by her loving husband, Michael Clarke; her four children: John Foley (Kristy), Desiree Clarke, Paul Clarke and April Clarke; her grandchildren Jack and Margaret (Maggie) Foley; and her brother George Gilbert (Elaine). Veronica was much loved by her numerous aunts, uncles, cousins nieces and nephews.
Born and raised in Port Richmond, Veronica remained a lifelong resident in the area. She was a 1975 graduate of Jules E. Mastbaum High School where she studied commercial art. Prior to getting married she worked at Technitrol, Inc. and studied nursing. As a testament to her beauty and after numerous tests she came very close to landing a role in a Hollywood movie. Veronica was an animal lover and throughout her life, from a young age, she rescued countless cats and dogs. She was an avid reader and enjoyed puzzles.
Relatives and friends are invited to Gather and Celebrate her life on Saturday January 4, 2025 beginning at 9:30 AM and to join in Prayers and Words of Remembrance at 11 AM, in the McELVARR FUNERAL HOME, 1415-17 East Susquehanna Avenue, Fishtown.
