Victoria T. Dowling "Vicky" passed away peacefully on December 17, 2025 after courageously battling her health for many years. She was born on November 8. 1981 in Philadelphia and was a lifelong resident of Fishtown.
Vicky was a devoted fan of NCIS, and Chicago Fire, Med, and Police. She never missed an episode and enjoyed settling in to watch her favorite shows. Her love for cooking was well known—she cooked as if she were feeding an entire football team, always making sure no one ever left her home hungry. She was also a “soup girl” all year round, no matter the season, and loaded potato soup was her absolute favorite. Above all, she will be remembered for her generous heart, her love of family and friends, and the comfort she brought to others through simple joys—good food, good conversation, and being together. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Vicky is the cherished daughter of the late Thomas and Victoria (nee Cain) Dowling. Beloved wife of Ray Harvey. Devoted mother of Ashlin Schaeffer, Liam Harvey, John Nesspor, and the late Francis X. Schaeffer. Dear sister of Thomas Dowling, Megan Dowling (Bob Hyatt), and Christopher Dowling. Loving aunt of Sebastian Hyatt, Cameron Kirkland, and Oisin Hyatt. Sadly missed by her aunts Donna Metzger, Elizabeth Dowling, Dolores Dowling, her uncle Robert Metzger, and her many cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate her life at her funeral mass Saturday January 3, 2026 beginning at 11am in St. Michael's Church 1445 N. 2nd Street Philadelphia, PA 19122. Those wishing to greet the family should arrive 30 minutes prior to the start of mass.
