Walter. J. 'Sonny' Lesinski, Jr.

August 4, 1941 ~ July 27, 2021 (age 79)

Obituary

Sonny was born in Philadelphia to the late Walter and Cecilia Trojak Lesinski.  He passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He attended Adair, Penn Treaty and graduated from Edison High School.  He was a proud US Army veteran, serving as an MP in Paris, France during the Vietnam Era.   Sonny was a Union member of Teamster Local 830 and drove a truck for the Coca Cola Co. until his retirement.   

He enjoyed summers in Wildwood , crabbing and fishing.  One of his fondest pasttimes was spending time with his grandchildren and involving himself in their lives by attending sporting events such as basketball, football, baseball  and Lacrosse tournaments. Sonny even went to dance recitals with his granddaughter Olivia.  

He is the beloved husband of Sally  A. ( nee Forst ), devoted father of  Jason ( Michelle ) and Jessica Bonfig ( Joe ).  Loving Pop Pop of Kenneth, Olivia, Jackson, Braydon,  and Mason..Dear brother of Gloria Bliven,  Cindy Bonowicz,  Edward Lesinski,  Frances 'Dolly' Sternhouse  and the late Dolores Burke, Theresa, Eleanor, Thomas, Ronald, and Maryann Dougherty.  Sadly missed by 2 generations of nieces and nephews, beloved life-long friend, John Clark and dear friends Patty and Pete Saunders.

Relatives and friends are invited to his graveside committal services on Saturday September 4, 2021 at 10 AM. at North Cedar Hill Cemetery.  Funeral will meet inside the main gate at the cemetery on the northwest corner of Frankford and Cheltenham Avenues.
