William "Bill" Michael Nelson

William Michael Nelson "Bill", age 55, passed away suddenly on June 1, 2022. He is the beloved son of Loretta (nee Haines) Skertic (late George) and the late Melvin "Butch" Nelson. Devoted father of Tabitha Nelson, William Nelson (Mariannette), Cheyenne Nelson (James), Desiree Reeves, and the late Ashley Burg. Loving Pop of Cole and James. Dear brother of Melvin Nelson, Kevin Nelson (Dolores), and Michael Beckett (Tara). Sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. 

Bill was raised in the Fishtown area of Philadelphia and remained in the area throughout his life. He was the bar manager for the Ukranian American Citizen's Association for over ten years. While working there he made many friendships with his customers and especially his co-workers.  Bill loved music and was an avid bike rider.  He would ride from Philadelphia to Valley Forge State Park and everywhere in between. If you saw Bill, chances are you saw him on his bike :) He will be remembered for his great sense of humor and will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. 

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing and funeral Tuesday June 7, 2022 beginning at 11:30am in the Hubert M. McBride Funeral Home 2357 East Cumberland Street Philadelphia PA 19125. Funeral service 1:30pm. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests and appreciates any donations towards his final expenses.
