William "Moe" R. Golden

William R. Golden "Moe" passed away peacefully at home on November 25, 2025 at the age of 81. He was born in Philadelphia on March 23, 1944 to the late William and May (nee Buck).

Moe was a lifelong resident of the East Kensington section of the city, growing up in St. Anne Parish and spending nearly his entire life in the very house where he was born. He was a proud graduate of North Catholic High School and went on to devote more than 50 years to his work as an electrician with Local 98, where he was known for his skill, reliability, and dedication.

Moe found joy in the outdoors and loved fishing, crabbing, and hunting—especially when he could share those moments with his family. He had a curious spirit and a collector’s eye, gathering all sorts of unique items over the years, from old keys and masks to nutcrackers and other treasures. Holidays were a special time for him, with Christmas holding a particularly cherished place in his heart.

Above all, Moe loved his family. His grandchildren were his greatest pride, and countless happy memories were made during their golf cart rides together. He will be remembered for his warmth, his humor, his devotion to those he loved, and the simple, steady life he built in the community that shaped him.

Moe is the beloved husband of Nancy (nee Farley). Devoted father of William Jr. (Kathy), David (Tracy), Steven (Chrisma), and the late Gregory (Kathy). Loving Pop of Kelly, Kevin, Joshua, Victoria, Thomas, Matthew, Tyler, and Sequoia. Dear brother of the late Doris Sweeney. Sadly missed by his 5 great grandchildren and his nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing and funeral Sunday November 30, 2025 beginning at 4pm in the Hubert M. McBride Funeral Home 2357 East Cumberland Street Philadelphia, PA 19125, followed by his funeral service at 6pm.
