William “WJ” Joseph Kane

William Joseph Kane “WJ” passed away peacefully on February 26, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 6, 1951 to the late William and Elizabeth (nee Baird) Kane. 

From an early age, Bill displayed an exemplary work ethic. As a young boy, he helped raise his younger siblings while his father served in the Marine Corps. Then, at the age of 24, he started a custom woodworking business. This business brought Bill much success and allowed him to provide a nice life for his family. 

As much as Bill valued his business, his biggest priority and greatest accomplishment was the life he built with his wife Kathleen and their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was extremely proud of each and every one of them. Bill will be greatly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Bill is the beloved husband of 49 years to Kathleen (nee Fitzgerald). Devoted father of Michael, Timothy, Brian, Brigette (Billy), and the late Billy and Kathleen. Loving Pop-Pop of Alycia, Matthew, Brendan, Caitlyn, Madison, Timothy Jr., Christopher, Natalie, and Gracie. Adoring great Pop-Pop of Ava, Aiden, Caleb, Lae’lani, Milani, Nicholas, and Shane Jr. Dear brother of Robin Schaffer (Eddie), and the late George, Timmy, and Steven Kane. Sadly missed by his nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing and funeral Saturday March 2, 2024 from 9-10:15am in St. Anne Church (lower) 2328 East Lehigh Ave. Philadelphia, PA 19125. Funeral Mass 10:30am. Interment Greenmount Cemetery.
